Franklin FACT Custom FACTivism: Paper Sheet

Recently, Franklin FACT members took part in an interactive and educational activity designed to deepen their understanding of how vaping and smoking affect the human body. Working in pairs, participants traced a full body outline on large sheets of paper, creating a life-sized canvas for learning and discussion. From there, students carefully drew and labeled major organs, documenting how each one is impacted by the harmful chemicals found in tobacco products and e-cigarettes.
As markers filled the pages, conversations sparked about lung damage, heart disease, brain development, and the long-term consequences of nicotine addiction. The hands-on nature of the activity encouraged collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking, allowing students to visually connect health information to real-life effects. Each completed body outline told a powerful story, serving as both an educational tool and a visual reminder of the risks associated with vaping and smoking.

This FACTivism not only reinforced important health messages but also empowered students to take ownership of their learning and share that knowledge with others. These visual projects can be displayed to educate peers, parents, and community members, helping to spread awareness in a clear and impactful way. By combining art, science, and teamwork, the students demonstrated that prevention education can be both engaging and meaningful, and that informed youth play a vital role in promoting healthier, tobacco-free communities.
