A Successful Month of Action!

For the first time ever, FACT launched a Month of Action, calling on youth and community groups across Wisconsin to come together with a shared purpose: reducing nicotine product waste and protecting our environment. Throughout the month of April, participants were encouraged to take action in their own communities by organizing cleanups and raising awareness. This inaugural event marked an exciting milestone for FACT, and the results exceeded all expectations.

Your response was inspiring. Eleven dedicated groups representing communities from all corners of the state answered the call to action. Together, more than 75 youth leaders stepped up, committed their time and energy, and turned concern into meaningful impact. With gloves on and determination high - these young advocates worked to remove discarded nicotine products littering parks, sidewalks, school grounds, and neighborhood spaces.

As a result of these collective efforts, THOUSANDS of pieces of nicotine product waste were successfully removed from Wisconsin’s environment. Each item picked up represents more than just trash - it represents prevention, education, and a commitment to healthier communities and ecosystems. This achievement highlights not only the scale of the issue but also the power of coordinated action when youth are empowered to lead.

This Month of Action fostered connection, teamwork, and pride. Participants gained hands-on experience, strengthened leadership skills, and saw firsthand how local action can contribute to statewide change. Most importantly, it proved that when young people are given the opportunity and support to act, they rise to the challenge.

This first-ever Month of Action was a resounding success—and it’s only the beginning. Thank you to every group, every youth participant, and every supporter who made this possible. Because of YOU, Wisconsin is cleaner, stronger, and one step closer to a healthier future.
